Suggestions

Below are several suggestions we've recieved via our online suggestion box. If you have a suggestion, please let us know.

Suggestion: Would you please consider adding The Heart is A Lonely Hunter and/or Woman's Worth by Bertrand E. Brown to your library collection. If possible could you email me when it comes in?
Response: Thank you for your request. Those titles have been ordered and should already be in the collection. Please let us know anytime you feel we should add something to the collection. We cannot promise that we will always add your title requests to the collection but we will certainly consider them.

Suggestion: Hoping that you will add African American books in as soon as the are released. It takes forever to get on the wait list. Eric Jerome Dickey and Kimberla Lawson Roby's books are out and the volumes are not available.
Response: We have many African-American titles on standing automatic order. If we miss some, please continue to let us know and we will be glad to order them.

Suggestion: My suggestion is for the emedia library (overdrive). I love downloading books for my Nook, and there are lots of good ones to borrow. But it gets tedious browsing when so many of the books are only on the waiting list. I'd like to see the available books listed first in each of the options. Also, is Joliet considering participating in the Overdrive Advantage Program? Thank you.
Response: Thank you for your suggestion. We will contact OverDrive to see if it is possible to list just the available titles first.
Yes, Joliet is considering participating in the OverDrive advantage program. We are reviewing the budget to see how much money we can reallocate to this program. We will announce on our website when this is available.

Suggestion: Set up a process to automatically send a email to remind a person that a item is almost due for return or renewal.
Response: Good news -- we already have a process in place to send out reminder emails. Please make sure that your library account has your email address. You will receive an email notice three days before the item is due.

Click on http://www.joliet.lib.il.us/resources/catalog_options.asp and then click on classic catalog. On the next page you will see a tab "My Account". Click on that tab and you will then see the option to add your email address to your account.
