Do you have a loved one serving in the
military out of state? Contact the Joliet Public
Library's Information Services Department if you would
like to use our new Digital Media Studio to communicate
with them via SKYPE (video conference). This
service is free of charge and you do not need a library
card. Certain restrictions may apply. Appointments
necessary. For more information, call 815-740-2666.
Coming Soon! Keep an eye out
for the grand opening of our Digital Media
Studio which will offer both PC and Mac
computers, video equipment, drawing tablets, Green
Screen, poster printer, and top of the line software
including MS Office Suite, Adobe CS4 and CS5, iLife 11,
Business Pro, and Sales and Marketing Pro.

newest books, videos and music at Joliet Public
Library from
New Book Alerts.
Want to test drive an electronic
reader before purchasing? 'Nooks' are available
for checkout at the Information Services
department both library locations. They are
pre-loaded with 10 popular titles of our
choosing so you have to do nothing but enjoy.
e-Book
Training:
Learn
how to checkout, download and transfer e-Books from the Joliet Public Library
website. Drop in training is available at the Black Road Branch on Thursdays,
2-5pm and Fridays, 5-9pm. Training also available at the Main Library on
Tuesdays, 9am-12pm. Demonstrations will be conducted on a Nook, but the process
is similar for all e-reader devices.

Yoga

some basic yoga moves from a certified instructor from
the Joliet Park District's Inwood Athletic Club. Dress
in loose fitting clothes and bring your own yoga mat if

Titanic
Day
April 14, 9am-3:30pm, Black Road Branch. Adults.
Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the sinking of
the Titanic with an all day event featuring a
presentation by Titanic historian Denise Vanaria as Mrs.
Thomas Andrews, widow of one of Titanic’s chief
designers who will appear in an authentic Titanic era
attire; live music that was played on board the ship;
display of Titanic artifacts; art display, clips from a
documentary, a craft for children to do and much more!

fun workshop combines the best techniques for following

Star Wars Day 3
June 2, 10am-3pm, Main Library. All ages. Come out
for a fun day of Star Wars themed games and activities.
Win prizes and meet over 30 costumed characters from the
Star Wars universe such as C3PO, Darth Vader, Jango Fett,
and Queen Amidala. This event will take place
throughout the library and outside on the front lawn. |
