Illinois CLICKS!
is the result of a collaboration by dozens of Illinois librarians, who
have gathered in one place, selected informational websites on subjects ranging
from Health, Jobs, Business, Law, and Homework Help, Immigration, and Travel.
Other subject areas will be developed as the year progresses.
“In a time of limited
budgets, the Joliet Public Library becomes even more important, because people
need information, especially information on jobs and health care, affordable
recreation options and educational materials,” said Library Director James
Johnston. “With Illinois CLICKS! the Joliet Public Library will be able to
offer a convenient internet resource to our patrons, extending our reach after
our library is closed.”

Illinois CLICKS! is
funded by a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant awarded to
the Suburban Library System by Secretary of State Jesse White and the
Illinois State Library. LSTA
grants support “cooperation among libraries to promote library services
that provide all users access to information through State, regional,
national and international electronic networks.” (ALA)
