slaves brought to Louisiana including "African slave names, genders,

emancipations."

This Web site has transcriptions of marriage records and records of labor contracts from southern states in the period immediately following the Civil War. Also included on the site are transcriptions of records related to "murders and outrages" that occurred during the same period.

Slavery Era Insurance Policies Registry On this Website from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, you will find basic information about insurance policies written to cover the injury or death of slaves. The records are alphabetized by the first name of the slave, and the first name of the slave holder.
